Kindness

Kindness

Charles Stanley

Ephesians 4:29-32 (NASB) “Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kindto one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.”

It doesn’t matter how they look on the outside. It matters what they are like inside.

Psalm 145:17 (NASB) “The Lord is righteous in all His ways and
kindin all His deeds.”

Joel 2:13 (NASB) “And rend your heart and not your garments. Now return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and compassionate,Slow to anger, abounding in loving kindness and relenting of evil.”

1 Peter 2:3 (NASB) …”if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.”

Galatians 5:22-23 (NASB) “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”

It’s every man for GOD, not every man for HIMSELF.

Proverbs 3:3 (NASB) “Do not let .kindnessand truth leave you;Bind them around your neck,Write them on the tablet of your heart.”

Zechariah 7:9 “(NASB) Thus has the Lord of hosts said, ‘Dispense true justice and practice kindnessand compassion each to his brother…..”

“So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience..” (Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭12‬ NASB)

Two examples-
1. Joseph and his brothers
2. Jesus and the woman at the well

Story of Jesus and the Good Samaritan

“Jesus replied and said, ‘A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead. And by chance a priest was going down on that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, he felt compassion, and came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and he put him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn and took care of him. On the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I return I will repay you.’ Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers’ hands? ” And he said, “The one who showed mercy toward him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do the same.” (‭Luke‬ ‭10‬:‭30-37‬ NASB)

If you give something to someone with expectation of something in return, that’s not kindness.

Kindness is goodness in action.

How to acquire kindness
Through the work of the Holy Spirit)10

1.Put aside the attitudes that do not fit who we are as Christians.
2. Ask “how do I want to be treated?”
3. Focus on the needs of others.
4. Ask God to help you.
Thank you- too short
Thank you very much- different
